Ella, Lorna and Jane from the charity team went to visit the Teenage, Young Adult Cancer department at the Churchill Hospital with some special treats for the patients to mark the end of Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Awareness month.

They took pizza in for patients and staff on the ward and also some special gifts.
‘Scentsy Buddys’ also known as plushies were donated by kind supporter Tanya Crouch.
Tanya lost her mother to cancer in October 2022, she received all of her treatments at the Churchill Hospital.
Tanya is a Scentsy consultant with the help of her friends and family kindly saved up her credits to purchase 45 of the plush ‘Buddys’ to give to cancer patients at the Churchill.
They come in all different shapes and sizes and Tanya provided us with a mixture of styles to cater for all.
They contain a pack that gives a calming scent which can be a good sensory experience for cancer patients who are often sensitive to smell.
On their travels, the charity team met the amazing Maddie Deacon from Thatcham, who is 23 and is currently being treated at the hospital.
She chose a Miss Piggy Buddy and expressed how it brightened up her day, along with her pizza.
We will be taking more of the Buddy’s to Kamrans wards in the Children’s Hospital over the next few weeks to hopefully raise a few more smiles, through what is a difficult time for many.

Thank you, Tanya, your family and friends for such thoughtful gifts.
