We want to say a big thank you to the 70 members of the team at Softcat, a technology solutions and services company, based in Marlow who recently took part in the Henley Tough Mudder.

Braving the mud and rain on Coronation day, the team took on the challenge to honour their good friend and colleague Artur Spaller, who sadly lost his life last October after an ongoing battle with Leukaemia.

We spoke to Sam Marmion, one of Artur’s good friends at Softcat who said; “Artur had always wanted to participate in a Tough Mudder and had signed up to take part in February 2021, which was about two months before he was diagnosed with Leukaemia.

“Unfortunately, Artur never got to do the Tough Mudder, so as a team, we decided to do it in his honour.”

So far, the 70-strong team have raised over £2500, for Oxford Hospitals Charity, which supports the hospital that cared for Artur and his family throughout his battle.

Speaking on behalf of the charity Naomi Stewart Hale said, “We would like to thank the Softcat team for the amazing amount they have raised for the charity. The money will be used to fund equipment and will benefit many patients across our Oxfordshire hospitals.

Our thoughts are with Artur’s family, friends and colleagues – he clearly inspired you all.
