We are just a few days away from our virtual fun run in support of the Oxford Children’s Hospital and children’s services across our hospitals. We are delighted that over 700 people have signed up to support our very special local cause.

A great big thank you for lacing up your trainers and pledging to run, walk or jog five miles around your local community on Sunday.

Do take a moment to read through this information with all you need to know ahead of race day.

The difference you are making

All week long we’ve been amazed and inspired by how much money is being raised in support of the Oxford Children’s Hospital.

Together you have already raised over £50,000  and we know you can do even more for local children in hospital. So please do continue to send out your fundraising link to family and friends telling them how important this run is, you’ll be amazed at how generous people can be.

If you still need to set up your fundraising page, it’s not too late! You can do so using the button below, it's never too late to get involved and help us make a real difference.

Don’t forget to join our community hub on Facebook; it’s a great place to hear inspirational stories and see how other runners/walkers are preparing for the upcoming event. We love hearing stories and seeing progress, so do make sure you have a look!

Registration for the event is still open, if you know anyone who needs to sign up then they can do so by visiting www.hospitalcharity.co.uk/ox5run.

What to expect before and after the event

We’ve put together a twelve-minute video (with the help of our friends at JACK FM Oxfordshire and George Martini, Zumba supremo) which we hope inspires and motivates you ahead of the race starting at 10:30am.

The video will be live from 07:00 am on Sunday morning, so do make sure you go to our event page before you set off to watch it.

Anyone who enters from Friday 26th at 15:00pm will not receive a running number, but you can download your own here

We’d love you to share your photos from the day so we can see how you all get on. Our Facebook page and Instagram are under Oxford Hospitals Charity and on Twitter we are @oxhospcharity. Do tag us in using #OX5RUN with any content you share.

And remember to also share your photos with friends on social media, alongside your fundraising link – as the day of your run and few days after are peak times to raise extra funds.

Next week we will let you know how it’s all gone and when to expect your medals.

If you have any questions or need to get in touch with a member of the charity team ahead of the event, the quickest and easiest way is to call 01865 743 444, email [email protected] or message us on Facebook.

Lastly, please do remember to adhere to government guidelines when out and about completing your five miles.

We’re so looking forward to seeing how you all get on and we couldn’t be more grateful for such incredible support.

Good luck and enjoy those five miles,

The Oxford Hospitals Charity team
