The charity that raises funds for the Horton General Hospital is launching a new fundraising drive, and inviting people to get involved and make a difference.

The Horton Charity Challenge starts off with a ‘meet the team’ evening at 6pm on Monday 3rd June at the Horton’s restaurant, where anyone can come along and find more about the work of the charity.

The evening will also include the official opening of an exhibition celebrating staff working across the Horton.

Horton General Hospital Charity raises funds across the Horton, to buy additional specialist equipment and make the hospital more comfortable for patients and staff.

Recently the charity has funded a state-of-the-art 3D echo scanner which will make a difference to thousands of heart patients looked after at the Horton.

New monitors have also been funded for the children’s ward and an extension of the service at the Brodey Cancer Centre was also made possible thanks to donations and fundraising which covered the cost of extra chemo chairs and work to reconfigure the space.

The Horton Charity Challenge aims to get more people and local business in the local community taking part in fundraising for the hospital.

Head of Fundraising, Eleanor Jones, said: ‘The Banbury community has always been fantastically supportive of their local hospital, organising events, taking part in challenges and giving generously. We hope this challenge will inspire even more people to make a difference for patients and staff.’

‘We have a series of events happening across the week, starting with the Horton Charity Challenge Open Evening on Monday 3rd June, 6pm-7pm at the Horton General Hospital.

‘We’d love people to come along to find out more about the charity and the difference your support makes across the hospital.

‘We will also be unveiling a new photographic exhibition which celebrates staff - from pharmacists to physiotherapists working across the hospital.

‘The charity team will be out and about in the Horton every day, and we finish the week with a brave team of daredevils taking to the skies for the first ever Horton Skydive!
