We are delighted to have Milica Redfearn, the Director of Midwifery at the John Radcliffe running in the London Marathon this year.

Milica is raising money for the Silver Star Unit, which is based at the Women’s Centre at John Radcliffe and provides specialist care for more complex pregnancies, caring for around 500 pregnant mothers and their unborn babies every year.

The unit is supported by the Silver Star Maternity Fund, which is part of Oxford Hospitals Charity and provides state-of-the-art medical equipment and specialist research as well as support for the wider maternity services in the John Radcliffe.

Milica said, “I feel incredibly fortunate to work alongside such amazing colleagues and as a mother of triplets, I understand firsthand the importance of this service in providing individualised care for both mothers and babies.
“Every donation I get will contribute towards enhancing our maternity service, creating a better experience for our mothers and their families.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has donated for their generosity and support. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of countless families, across Oxfordshire and beyond.”

As Milica prepares for her run this Sunday, we wish her every success in completing the world-famous 26.2 mile route. We will be there to cheer on Milica and our entire team of 23 dedicated runners, as they take on this challenge.
