Celebrating International Nurses’ and Midwives’ Day

Oxford Hospitals Charity was proud to celebrate the wonderful nursing and midwifery staff across our hospitals last week.

We joined a very special conference to highlight all their fantastic achievements.

The annual nurses’ day - which takes place on Florence Nightingale’s birthday - also included awards to a number of nurses who have reached 40 years of service within the NHS.

As the charity that supports all the wards and departments at the John Radcliffe, Churchill, Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Horton General Hospital and Oxford Children’s Hospital, we were delighted to be part of the celebrations.

The event also gave us the opportunity to talk to nurses about how the charity can make a real and lasting difference for our patients and staff.

With your support we can fund some amazing projects, such as equipment that detects meningitis and sepsis in less than two hours, compared to the three day diagnosis previously.

We are also able to transform areas for hospital patients and staff and have recently refurbished a staff room for our cardiac theatre team so that they take breaks without the need to travel far from the operating theatres.

These improvements would not be possible without the help of the thousands of fundraisers and the generosity of everyone making a donation to your hospital charity.

You can help make a difference to our staff by making a donation today.
