The amazing Oxford University medical students are an incredible group – who make such a difference in our hospitals. We absolutely love them!

During the past year they have supported so many of our hospital teams, working in Intensive Care, supporting families who have a loved one in hospital with COVID and helping with staff testing, all whilst continuing with their studies.

And on top of that they have chosen to support our charity for the second year running!

Last year this amazing bunch raised over £12,000 for Oxford Hospitals Charity and they have just launched their second year of fundraising.

They have kicked off their year of support with a top of the range raffle. There are over 70 prizes up for grabs and all funds raised support our charity as well as the Calon Heart Charity.

Some of the top prizes include a Roux Menthe touring bike, worth £850, a pair of tickets to the Truck music festival – which is completely sold out, a two night stay at the Woodstock Arms and a family pass for Blenheim Palace. Click here to enter their raffle – it’s just £2 a ticket.

Meirian Evans is one of the students organising all the fundraising – part of their Tingewick Society team. She told us:

‘The medical students involved with Tingewick have been volunteering on the front line in intensive care and we would have struggled to get through it without the support provided by Oxford Hospitals Charity.

‘During the COVID-19 pandemic we’ve seen how the charity has provided welfare items to boost morale, funded extra psychological support for staff working on the frontline and specialist equipment to support patients in our hospitals. So we really care about supporting this charity.

‘Our raffle is really central to our fundraising, as we can’t do our normal events. We have been blown away by some of the prizes we are able to offer and hope to raise loads through this amazing raffle.

‘Our members also organised a runathon earlier this month – going up and down Headington Hill in a relay for 48 hours – covering the height of Mount Everest!

‘We are really excited about our fundraising and know first hand the good work that takes place in the hospitals thanks to the charity – so can’t wait to raise as much as we can!’

Community Fundraising Manager for Oxford Hospitals Charity, Emily Waddell, added: ‘The Tingwick team are a such a joy to work with and have an infectious enthusiasm. It’s amazing how much they raised last year – all in the midst of the pandemic – and we are so thrilled that they are supporting us again this year. Their raffle prizes are incredible, so we hope loads of people will buy a ticket and support these two special causes.’

At £2 a ticket we think this is an amazing raffle – just follow the link to buy a ticket or two.
