Sophie started SCCWID to help create a more comfortable and interesting environment for children, and in particular teenagers, who are being treated in hospital for lengthy periods - the "Interesting things to Do". Sadly Sophie died in January 2000, but the Watson family have continued to raise funds for Melanie’s Ward at the Children’s Hospital, which looks after teenagers and young people aged 11-16. From new games consoles to fun play rooms, the money raised by SCCWID makes a real difference to those young patients.
